I can hardly believe it’s May. The trees are vibrant green, the weather is warming, and the bugs have arrived. Welcome to spring in the south! It has been a joy experiencing this beautiful season in a new region. Here are a few of my musings, creations, and inspirations lately, 5.3 edition.

Inspirations Lately 5.3

This is one of the ideas behind Creating Hicks Home. I love to share simple joy and everyday beauty. It’s such a simple concept, but I believe it can be easily overlooked in our busy world. I’ve really been leaning into slow, intentional living since our move to Charlotte and it’s such a pleasure to learn to be content and at peace with slowness.

A little styling moment at home lately. I’ve been fully embracing all of the spring flowers.

There is something so magical about a simple, styled floral shoot. It’s always a reminder for me to enjoy the small things in life.

I have the same Campo de’ Fiori scalloped edge, terracotta planter. It is beautiful! Once planted, the dormant moss on the planter starts to come alive. It seems very fitting that I’m drawing so much inspiration from outdoor spaces and florals right now.
