Last month I hit a creative lull due to lots of travel and busy plans. I’m excited to lean into summer throughout July and embrace slowness, time spent by the water, and purposeful movement. I miss the quiet, creative time that Creating Hicks Home allows me. So, I’m going to give myself more time to create.
Cheers to more exploration and relaxation this summer!

INSPIRATIONS LATELY 7.10
Here are a few of my musings, creations, and inspirations lately, 7.10 edition.
Forever inspired by outdoor living throughout the summer months. I really appreciate the scalloped edges and fresh greenery in this photo. The pop of lemon is a fun way to incorporate yellow!
I believe a well-curated house is a blend of old and new. This is done beautifully with the antique entry table above. I love how the wicker basket fits right underneath for practical storage. I also love the nautical touches incorporated. All of the artwork feels very intentional.
Kristin Hockman endlessly inspires me right now. I was first drawn to her beautiful garden filled with wistful greenery, pops of color, and the sweetest baby ducks. This led to the discovery of her tasteful interior styling. Her home is filled with inspiring vignettes, like the one above.
Lately, I’m on a yellow kick. It’s so bright and inviting! I want to curl up on this settee with a good book. The blend of stripes is gorgeous! A reminder that when done right, patterns and textures never overwhelm the eye.
A round up of some curated summer shop pieces. Happy shopping!
