We’ve moved! After almost eight years in Chicago, we decided to make a big move to Charlotte, North Carolina. This move was very hard for us, as we have built such a strong community of friends and family within Chicago. However, we are very excited for all that lies ahead in our next chapter. There will be a lot more to explore, create, and build in our new Charlotte home.
I wrote about the home tips I’m bringing into 2023 here: 4 Home Tips. I hope to bring these ideas with us as we create and reimagine our new space together.
Our Charlotte Home
Charlotte offers a lot of the things we’ve been prioritizing: milder year-round weather, drivable mountain and ocean access, driving distance to both parents, and plenty of outdoor activities. We both grew up in the Midwest, so we’re excited to embrace all that the southeast region offers.

We have a backyard! It’s not huge, but we cannot wait to utilize this outdoor space more in the spring and fall. We get really great afternoon light, which spills into the back of our home. ☀️
We are so happy to have a staircase and two floors! We lived in a Chicago high rise for five years, so we are thrilled to have a bit more space. The living room is tight, so we’re definitely still finding ways to maximize our space.
We previously had two storage lockers in Chicago. We can now fit all of our kitchen supplies within our kitchen YAY! It truly is the little things that have made this move easier on our overall lifestyle.
I’m currently creating a Charlotte home mood board of ideas I would love to implement in our townhome. I can’t wait to share our vision with you over the next few months!
